The Company:

The name Gordon Lamb is steeped in history. The company's roots go right back to the dawn of the motor industry in the UK.

First established in 1953, the Gordon Lamb Group is proud to continue the tradition of being a family run business and is headed by the third generation of the Lamb family; Stephen Lamb. Stephen took over as CEO from his father, Richard Lamb, in 2005. Richard was responsible for the rapid growth in the business throughout the eighties and nineties and still takes an active role today, as Chairman.

At present, the company operates seven new car franchises across Chesterfield and Sheffield as well as a Budget car rental franchise and a local property company. The business currently employs over 250 local people and has an annual turnover in excess of £90 million, selling in excess of 6000 cars and vans a year in addition to servicing circa 30,000 vehicles.

Each site operates a flat management structure with a definitive decision maker at each location, with the CEO just a walk down the corridor or a mobile phone call away. (He never switches it off and is available on e-mail or mobile 24 hours a day 7 days a week). All staff are encouraged to own the issues and to provide bright ideas to allow us to advance forward every day.

Working Smart:

The Group operates a bespoke system and process that was written by our own management team and implemented by a dedicated training team. Everyone works to improve the processes consistently by ensuring it starts customer focus and delivers what they want, when they need it. It remains a family business with a definite proactive and forward thinking team.

Indeed because of the ever-changing world in which we live, the pace of life and indeed motoring fashion, Gordon Lamb recognises the need to constantly improve and change to reflect the market.
