    Our client is a professional organisation with approximately 140 professionally qualified individuals, dealing in the education and training sector in Bradford.

    Due to further expansion, the organisation now requires a Business Development Manager to manage and develop their Business Development strategies and profit requirements.

    The role
    This is a full time, permanent position, reporting to the Commercial Development Director and will involve the following responsibilities:

    •Seeking and source bid tender business opportunities, managing the process along with internal colleagues, although you will be the lead bid writer for the company
    •Development of a pipeline of business opportunities ensuring continuous bid activity to funding bodies
    •Being central point of contact for funders, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation process for all bids, successful and unsuccessful.
    •Networking with major funding institutions and potential delivery partners, constantly ensuring maximisation of all development opportunities
    •Continual internal communications with all necessary parties with regard bid writing, success and handover.

    The essential requirements of the successful candidate are:
    •A minimum of three years commercial business development experience, delivering and developing new business
    •Experience and track record of developing bids and tenders in accordance with public procurement standards
    •NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
    •A knowledge of the strategic bodies that influence the economy of the regions
    •A knowledge of new product development processes in the sector
    •A knowledge of public and European funding bodies and other income sources

    Desirable qualities would include:
    •Experience of working within the public sector
    •An understanding of the employment and skills sector
    •An understanding of the education system and current trends

    This is a senior role with a great responsibility for delivery of quantifiable achievements, and will attract a salary of £40,000 plus bonus.
