My client, a large utilities` company, is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join its expanding team based in Leeds.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure that detailed audit of all projects with Project Managers are completed on a programmed basis. Report on findings monthly. This is to include:
* Confirm that project budgets are correctly set in the system
* Review of contract letters and letters of variation
* Investigation and reporting of all significant project write ups and write downs
* Maintenance of detailed monthly statements explaining risks and reserves, exposures, Work-in-Hand and project extensions
* Weekly and monthly review of production
* Assess compliance with Delegation of Authority
* Challenge the valuation of WIP and debtors - Identify and communicate risk and identify ways to reduce/eliminate it.
* Identify and recommend system and process enhancements to improve efficiencies in project management, controlling and financial processes.
* Draft and present training courses to all levels of EA management to increase financial awareness.
* Provision of ad hoc information and dealing with ad hoc company matters of a financial nature as required.
Key skills & Qualifications required
* Strong verbal and written communication skills - interpersonal skills essential
* High level of computer literacy
* Qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
* Adaptable / flexible - the role will require frequent UK & Ireland travel
The main duties and responsibilities will include;
* Analyse data & reports, investigate variances and recommend action
* Prepare monthly forecast and challenge operating teams that forecasts are realistic and achievable.
* Ensure control systems are effective and drive continuous process improvement.
* Provide assistance and direction with new product and ad-hoc costings, what if scenario`s and capital spend justification.
