Job Description:
A reputable business based in North Leeds are currently looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join their friendly team. Your role will involve the supervision of a team of two and be responsible for the following:
- Managing the monthly payroll process to deadlines
- Amendments in respect of starters, leavers and transfers
- Payroll reconciliations
- Processing monthly BACS payments
- Printing and distribution of payslips
- Generation of monthly payroll journals for finance department
- Generation of headcount figures
- Updating payroll details for changes in tax codes
- Admittance of employees to the company pension scheme
- Production and submission of tax forms (P11d, P60 etc)
- Responding to queries from employees on payroll issues
- Implementation and maintenance of internal controls and procedures
- Ensuring sound internal controls and systems are in place and strictly followed
- Development and implementation of improvements to the systems, processes and organisation of the payroll team
Requirements:
- A good knowledge of computerised payroll systems and processes are essential
- Knowledge of Statutory and HMRC requirements
- Ability to perform manual calculations of PAYE and NIC
- Comprehensive knowledge of end to end payroll processing
- Ability to complete statutory year end returns
- Understanding of P11d reporting
