    We need well spoken and articulate debt recovery advisors with at least six months mortgage arrears debt collection experience

    1 JOB PURPOSE
    To assist Team Leaders in managing a high volume caseload of mortgage arrears instructions from a number of lenders, collecting payment of arrears and, if necessary, issuing and conducting legal proceedings resulting in payment or repossession of property. The role may, in time, involve court appearances on behalf of a client and also contacting debtors by telephone.

    2 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
    • To assist the Team Leaders with their caseload
    • To assist the Team Leaders in the general review of files and the administration of their caseload
    • To issue proceedings where necessary, and thereafter to assist the Team Leaders in managing those proceedings
    • To provide a quality service on all aspects
    • To liaise with clients and third parties (i.e. mortgagors, courts, solicitors) on a day to day basis

    • Excellent telephone manner
    • Polite and courteous
    • The drive to focus clearly on meeting service standards set both internally and externally without the loss of quality
    • The competence to work with minimal supervision
    • The ability to work well under pressure
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

    4 TECHNICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience of working in mortgage arrears
    • Proven skills in a volume environment
    • An understanding of the County Court System (and primarily “mortgage repossession actions”)
    • Some understanding of the legal environment
    • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent (grades A – C)
    • Competent use of MS Word and Excel
    • Experience of a case management system an advantage but not essential
