Leeds City Centre
Our client is looking to recruit a Paralegal in order to expand the Public Law team in our Leeds office. The department focuses particularly on health, social welfare and education provision, on commercial and general judicial review, prison law, planning and environmental law and professional regulation – often with a human rights dimension.
This post will offer opportunities to manage a caseload and to support solicitors conducting litigation in courts (including the highest courts) and tribunals, which is interesting and sometimes groundbreaking. Post-holders will be encouraged to develop their skills, but can expect to deal with clients, draft documents, progress the litigation process and attend court.
You will be a team player with strong communication skills and an understanding of client care. You will have experience of working in a legal environment and an understanding of office procedures, along with a pro-active approach and the ability to work on your own initiative, managing your time to meet deadlines.
You will have a professional telephone manner with attention to detail and sound IT skills. Experience of working in a similar role would be beneficial.
Applicants should be educated to degree level in England or Wales.
