Head of Application Development
The UK Clinical Research Network, Leeds
The UKCRN IS Applications development team handles a programme of IS developments to improve the IS environment for clinical research across the UK. Some of their current projects include our UKCRN Portfolio Database, a Contacts Management System, a Finance System, a Training Management System and an Advice Services Portal, many of which are built on Microsoft ASP.Net, Microsoft SharePoint (MOSS 2007) and Microsoft SQL Server.
You’ll direct the development of software applications by leading and managing an applications development team of around 16 people. Part of the brief will be to ensure applications are developed and delivered to the end user according to agreed time frames and specifications, and also to establish and maintain user groups and other stakeholder management arrangements for each supported application. Besides those key responsibilities, you will provide strategic thinking linking the development of systems to key business drivers, vision and innovation in developing IS strategy.
Experience in applications development within a healthcare or R&D environment while not essential would definitely be an advantage. A proven record in leading a substantial, Applications team is however a must.
