    Role Description and Person Specification for the Role of Business Support Officer

    Summary of Role
    Actively assist in the delivery of projects, providing administrative and project support, internally and client facing.
    Ensure that projects are delivered within the constraints of cost, quality and time.
    Proactively identify emerging issues which need attention, and deal with or escalate to the relevant individual in a timely fashion.
    Provide Partner and Consultant support through personal assistance; this may or may not be aligned to particular projects.
    Assist with discrete tasks when identified either internally or project focused.


    Responsibilities/Accountabilities
    Client Facing:

    Deliver end-to-end administration for multiple assignments, including planning, management and monitoring of the agreed deadlines, prompting partners and consultants on agreed stages of the process
    Monitor own work to ensure client’s expectations are being met
    Proactively contribute to the delivery of projects which meet client requirements
    Seek and monitor ongoing feedback on the quality of the service

    Business Facing:

    Understand and promote the firm’s business plan and live values
    Manage Partner and Consultant diary commitments to make most effective use of time
    Have a detailed knowledge of staff roles, internal services and products and use this to proactively aid team efficiency

    Skills

    MS Office suit of tools
    Communicate with clarity and confidence
    Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload appropriately

    Knowledge

    Understand the priority and importance of work and to actively contribute to the development of projects
    Undertake appropriate activities to participate in self-assessment, goal setting, assignment and personal reviews
    Ability to access a range of internal and external electronic sources of knowledge to obtain relevant information

    Attitudes and Behaviours

    Build up good relationships across functions and with client personnel
    Proactively make constructive recommendations on improving services that enhance own and others role to the benefit of the team
    Contribute to the corporate management by taking a longer term view of workload and appropriate level of administration support
    Flexibility to own and others’ work
    Ability to embrace ambiguity and drive the development of solutions that support the development of business in changing context
