Purpose Of The Job
Providing leadership, management, and development of the contract, ensuring financial, and operational commitments are met and exceeded. To provide technical advice, assistance and training to engineering staff. To act as both AE and SAP involving assessing, reviewing and auditing technical processes, procedures and engineering competencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, and that contractual commitments are met and exceeded.
- Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of the contract are exploited, to deliver increased turnover and profitability, ensure additional services and projects are added, and contracts are re-won on re-tender.
- Ensure optimum staffing structures operate across contracts, balancing cost reduction with the delivery of service excellence. Ensure structures support peaks and troughs in workload, and disaster recovery.
- Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, ensuring post holders are fully competent, and that effective succession planning arrangements are in place.
- Development of contract financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduction of WIP, debt, cost reduction and contract growth, and ensure that these are met and exceeded.
- Ensure appropriate control systems to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
- Ensuring a customer focus within all areas of operational activities, and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts.
- Provision of leadership and guidance, advice, coaching and direct support, where required to deliver best practice selection, training, assessment and recognition/reward.
- Supporting the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings, hosting visits, and support to mobilisation as required on new contracts.
- To be appointed as Authorising Engineer (Electrical HV/LV), (Boilers and Pressure systems), or (Confined spaces) as contractually required and to undertake 6 monthly audits of Authorised Persons.
- To act as NICEIC Principle Duty Holder for the Business unit and undertake routine reviews of works completed. To arrange NICEIC audits and provide technical guidance to the Qualified Supervisor and NMS engineering personnel.
Qualifications:
A good general education is essential, probably to HND.
Up to date technical knowledge of ACOPs, fire and environmental control measures, building control requirements, and the Health and Safety at Work Ac
Experience [Essential] Managerial experience at Contract Manager or Senior Supervisor level within technical and or hard services is essential.
Practical experience must include recruitment and line management/supervisory experience.
Hours - 40 per week
Core Working Time - 8-30am start time to 5-30pm finish time, with 1 hour (unpaid) lunch
Sick Pay
Holidays -20 Days per annum, plus statutory days, through the holiday year which runs 1 April to 31 March each year
