Position: SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Location: HUDDERSFIELD
Salary: £35k+bonus+pension

Our Client, a leading multinational Manufacturer of industrial automotive components are currently recruiting within there R&D team for a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Mechanical Design:

*Providing a customer facing resource to assess project scope, requirements and provide Engineered solutions whilst supporting the specification review, critique and negotiation phases of gaining & delivery of the order
Interpret customer specifications (VOC - voice of customer) for assigned projects and opportunities
*Create cost effective and innovative design proposals and solutions across and beyond the current range of EPUK products for industrial, marine, defence and other high integrity applications. Includes generation of manufacuring datapack information as required.
*Possess strong core design skills with competence in product architectures, tradeoffs, materials selection, gear rating, shaft and bearing analysis, couplings, structural design of components, mechanical joint and lubrication system design
*Provide customer facing technical diagnosis and support, including site visits and translating these into sales opportunities
Liaise closely and effectively with the sales teams
*Carry out engineering projects and contracts within timescale & budget parameters
*Maintain cost/schedule control links with program management, estimating and sales
*Feedback engineering implications of customer changes during contracts - link with sales and program management for chargeable gvariations"
*Drawing, concession and design change approval signatory
*Familiar with relevant engineering standards and specifications. *Responsible for ensuring contractual, ISO quality standards are met
*Provide technical support and instructions to associated business functions
*Define and manage relevant subcontract engineering activities including EP GTC
