| AMP Designer - Building Services Location: Barnsley Rate: £22 - £27 per hour Duration: Until April 2009 Start Date: August 2008 I am seeking an experienced AMP Designer to provide innovative and customer focused building services designs, contract administration, site inspection and energy management services to enable the Council to meet its strategic objectives in services such as Education, Health & Social Care, and Environment etc. To ensure building services designs deliver Best Value and best practice, e.g. Achieving Excellence, Rethinking, Construction and Better Public Buildings, and better design quality in a holistic sense - fitness for purpose, build quality, sustainability, adaptability, safety, efficiency, appreciation of context and an aesthetic impact that contributes to civic life. To make the process of design and the management of projects accessible and understandable. Enable the Council to respond effectively to the challenge of efficiency savings in the field of building services design and energy management - well-designed buildings can reduce the overall costs of providing services, and they can increase the effectiveness of those services, and energy use. Essential requirements for this role are: *At least 5 years post qualification professional experience. * Application form, interview Essential * Experience of the specification and installation of energy management systems. * Practical experience of using life cycle costing to optimise design and improve the environmental performance of buildings. * Membership of a relevant professional engineering institution, i.e. CIBSE, IEE etc. * Good knowledge of the Construction Design and Management regulations and other Health and Safety legislation relating to building services.
