My client is an established Bradford based organisation, specialising in the design and manufacture of precision equipment.
My client now requires an experienced Buyer to join them.
This permanent full time role encompasses the following:
• very hands on role, being the only buying professional within the organisation, responsible for all buying activity
• buying all raw materials, packaging and dealing with sub contracting activity
• review of current procedures, along with recommendations for suitable amendments, where necessary
• regular communication with Production Control Manager and team, ensuring optimum production at all times
• very busy environment, often troubleshooting and working to tight deadlines
The successful candidate will
• have an appreciation of an engineering environment at the very least, from their career, while a significant understanding of engineering drawings would be a distinct advantage
• have ideally five years buying experience, although in depth experience within an engineering background will preclude this
• have some knowledge of MRP systems
• will have a ‘can do’ attitude and a track record of Due Date Compliance and Cost Down Achievements
• CIPS qualification is ideal but is not essential
This is a fantastic opportunity within a very busy but enjoyable working environment, for a Buyer who is happy to maintain all day to day buying activities with some project based work also.
This role attracts a salary of between £25,000 - £28,000 per annum with annual company wide bonus scheme and contributory pension plan. Standard working hours are7.45am – 4.30pm Monday – Thursday and 7.45am – 12.45pm Fridays.
Interested and suitably experienced candidates should forward their CV as soon as possible.
It is with regret that I am only able to guarantee a response to those candidates successful at the pre-screening stage.
