Full Description:
EU Import & Export Compliance Officer urgently required to work for a large organisation on the outskirts of Leeds. You will be responsible for maintaining an import and export compliance program in accordance with UK, EU and US laws and ensuring continued adherence to it.

Duties:

·To support the compliance activities across Europe by ensuring that systems and procedures are put in place and adhered to
·Responsible for decisions taken on orders where possible matches occur against Watch Lists
·Assist in the development and maintenance of the Internal Compliance Manual
·Propose changes to in house computer systems to improve efficiency in compliance activities. Specify, test and implement changes to systems to meet overall compliance aims
·Develop and deliver training modules for employees to ensure compliance with International Trade requirements
·To organise and document export control training provided to employees
·Prepare classification requests and licence applications for the Export Control Organisation and maintain records of all licence usage
·To maintain a database of supplier classifications of goods distributed
·Collate information
·To learn and then keep up to date with export control developments worldwide

Knowledge & Experience:

·Experience of international trade management, with demonstrable experience of working in a team.
·Experience of working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
·Experience of managing projects with a proven track record in meeting deadlines and delivering success.
·Experience of taking responsibility for decisions in a key area for the business.
·Must be able to work independently.
·Must have excellent organisational skills.
·Strong attention to detail required.
·Working knowledge of UK and EU.
·Export Control or Customs programmes an advantage.
·Qualified technically to carry out the role, either through formal graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience.
