If you have at least two years 2nd line support experience, you should apply now for a busy and varied ICT Technician role in Horsforth. We offer a competitive salary £16199 and excellent benefits

MAIN DUTIES:

1. To work in close collaboration with computing staff to support the IT needs of the Department.

2. To maintain software, hardware and facilities (including email and web-site in consultation with staff and procedures).

3. To present and provide technical supervision in the laboratories for those undertaking research projects.

4. To monitor stock levels, prepare equipment, purchase orders for authorisation by the Head of the Department

5. To advise staff and students in the operation of hardware and core software applications.

6. To conduct backup routines on servers.

7. To adopt the procedures and working practices of the department and ensure that best practice is always employed.

8. To maintain the technical resources and software library including licence requirements as required.

9. To communicate effectively with all relevant parties as required to successfully conduct the duties of the post.

10. To undertake the development of personal and technical skills as required by the service.

11. To carry out duties and practices in compliance with company policies and practices.

12. To ensure that students observe and adhere to all relevant Health and Safety Legislation and Policy from time to time in force.

13. To ensure that equipment is maintained in a safe and hygienic condition.

14. To maintain regular inventories and ensure that resource malfunctions are reported and actioned in accordance with policy.

15. To apply the equality and Diversity Policy in the postholder’s own area of responsibility and in his/her general conduct.

16. To carry out any other reasonable duties as may be directed commensurate with the grade of the post.
