Job Description

Our client a successful firm of financial advisers is currently looking to grow their team and is looking for an experienced Independent Financial Adviser.  Candidates must have a strong background within the industry and ideally have a bias towards corporate financial advice although this is not essential.  Suitable applicants must be RDR Level Qualified.

Job Purpose: To deliver expert financial advice and a first class customer experience in a commercial manner which meets or exceeds budgeted revenues in a cost effective way in line with plans and budgets and in compliance with corporate values as communicated by and agreed with the Branch Head and from time to time from members of the Management Committee

Customer Sales & Service Provide expert independent advice to their designated clients in compliance with relevant regulations and policies and values. Achieve new business sales target as agreed with Branch Head

  • Maintains & nurtures existing client relationships
  • Generates new client enquiries and generate new income from same
  • Under takes sales and marketing activity in line with local/regional/national plans
  • Annual new business revenue target is met or exceeded

Relationship Management Maintain excellent client relationship with existing clients & colleagues

  • Delivers an excellent customer experience, including fair treatment
  • Speed of response/turnaround time in accordance with service standards defined by Divisional heads and set out in Procedures, Event Lists and ‘How to…’ Guides
  • Processes are executed in compliance with all regulations, as evidenced by file checks and compliance feedback
  • Administrative support is consulted with on a proactive and regular basis to encourage a close “team based”  working relationship
  • Consultants should appreciate the symbiotic nature of the inter-relationship with administrators and seek ensure workloads are manageable and demands on support are reasonable.

Business Development To create, nurture and develop relationships with community professionals and local institutions in order to establish new customer relationships and achieve growth targets. To create the background noise necessary to generate business enquiries from appropriate businesses. Identify a target group of community professionals, local institutions & large corporate prospects Work with branch colleagues to establish and implement a sales and marketing contact programme of events for such community professionals, local institutions & large corporate prospects. This might include amongst other things: Local PR, email communications, departmental meetings, partnership presentations, specialist seminars/workshops and working lunches. To monitor the success of this by reviewing:

  • the number of active relationships being maintained as recorded on AO
  • the value of new business referred into branch from these sources

Cross-Selling To establish relationships with branch network staff and other business groups within the group in order to achieve reciprocal business Consultants should actively review local clients to ensure optimum cross selling exposure activity by:

  • Identifying target clients with cross divisional referral opportunities
  • Working with the client team in establishing a contact strategy designed to expand the reach and penetration of our service offerings across divisions

To review the success of this by reviewing:

  • the number of active relationships being maintained as recorded on AO
  • increases in the value of new business from existing clients
  • cross divisional payaways received
  • New divisional sales to existing clients

Specialist Expertise To develop & maintain specialist knowledge in chosen fields of operation in order to achieve revenue targets and identify cross sales opportunities.

  • Keeps abreast of changes/developments in own area of expertise
  • Maintains progress in continual professional development and specialist reading
  • Maintains specialist licences in relevant areas.
  • Strives to support “on-the-job” achievement with academic and professional qualifications relevant to  specialist fields of operation

Responsiveness to  Management Support To be willing engage with performance management processes in accordance with company policy and the values of the company brand

  • To willingly engage in a constructive 2-way process of management support and consultation through performance management processes
  • Completes performance management activities in accordance with required timeframes
  • To welcome personal development support and acknowledge own developmental needs and have a willingness to tackle same.
  • Mentor, coach and encourage self development of trainee consultants and other colleagues interested in consultant based career progression.

Customer Sales & Service Closing sales, servicing customers, answering technical queries and resolving local issues. To look at business processes and identify areas where improvement could be made in cost or service delivery Delivery of a keen customer service experience by engaging with Admin teams to ensure:
