Job Description

Our client is a leading Law firm and they are currently looking for a Fee Earner to join their growing organisation. They pride themselves on service excellence and are market leaders within their field of expertise.

Role Profile:

To handle a portfolio of claimant catastrophic injury cases, to generate fee income and contribute to the general success of the department.

The caseload is predominantly RTA based and involves cases with complex technical issues and quantum in excess of £250,000. The portfolio includes claims for spinal cord injury, brain injury, orthopaedic injury and fatal accident cases. The caseload will be approximately 15 cases per fee earner.

Core Responsibilities:

• Regular communication and face to face meetings with your client * Instructions and meetings with a multi-disciplinary team of experts for example, medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, counsel. * Analysis of evidence and research of legal issues on liability, causation and quantum * Drafting documents including statements, pleadings, schedules of loss * Securing early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation * Optimising your client's settlement

Experience:

• Proven track record of dealing with catastrophic injury claims. * Commitment to delivering excellent client care. * Competent and experienced litigator. * Strong technical ability with practical knowledge of court procedures. * Excellent communication skills to include negotiation and objection handling. * High standard of organisational skills. * Excellent time management. * High standard of work quality with attention to detail. * Commercial awareness. * Positive attitude. * Acts as a role model to colleagues. * Team player who challenges and supports individuals * Self motivating, using own initiative. * Work with a Task based system to ensure regular contact is maintained with all clients. * Computer literate to be able to use word, excel, and case management system. * Perform to a high level in a target orientated environment.
