Job Description
Job Role: Hospital Porter
Location: Leeds 9 & 1
Start Date: ASAP
Hours of Work: 17.00pm to 1.00am – Must be flexible
The main elements of the role
Moving frail and ill patients between different departments or wards in safety and comfort.
Transporting complex and valuable equipment that may need expert handling around the building.
Removing dirty linen from wards
Taking clean linen to wards.
Moving furniture and equipment; and delivering post, files and specimens to different parts of the hospital.
A porter could work anywhere on the hospital site including outside the buildings, whatever the weather.
Ideal Person
Commit to the role for a minimum 6 months
Able to work on own initiative, within agreed departmental guidelines
Committed to working with people
Professional attitude
Good interpersonal skills
Effectively communicate with patients and team members
Successful applicants will be required to undertake a criminal record check via Taskmaster
