Job Description
Large corporate business based near Guiseley, in Leeds are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their busy accounts team.
This is a varied Accounts Payable role working in a really friendly and welcoming team.
We are looking for someone with previous purchase ledger experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a non exhaustive list of principal duties of the Purchase Ledger Clerk. The post holder will be expected to complete any other duties commensurate with the post reasonably asked of him/her.
- To develop and implement robust protocols to ensure good accounts practice and to support continuity in times of absence.
- To develop and maintain accurate filing systems, including electronic systems, further growth of filing systems and initiating new systems where appropriate.
- Be aware of key indicators and service level agreements within the department.
- Maintain and update the purchase ledger of new suppliers and amendments.
- Ensure the correct treatment of VAT.
- Scanning and e-mailing invoices to obtain correct authorisation for payment.
- Payment of suppliers in accordance with company payment terms.
- Complete the monthly payment run and other payments necessary.
- Statement reconciliations.
- Review aged creditors reports.
- Adopt safe systems of work, paying due diligence towards colleagues, customers and members of the public at all times.
- Report all accidents and incidents to the HR Manager and onsite First Aider.
- Manage complaints escalating to the relevant Key Account Managers and/or Finance Director as appropriate or necessary to ensure a satisfactory conclusion for all parties.
- Behave in a courteous and professional manner towards colleagues, customers and the general public.
- Participate in training/coaching sessions and attend meetings when required.
- Carry out any reasonable instruction.
