Job Description

Our client, a nationally established engineering company based in the Yorkshire region, is now looking to recruit an Applications/Design Engineer to join their team.

Our clients' products are used in a wide range of applications from high speed gas turbines, steam turbines and compressor drives, F1 racing engine test beds to process pumps, marine propellers and industrial fans etc.

They are now seeking an Application Engineer and the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and application of High performance Couplings. The successful candidate should have experience with engineered industrial products, preparation of proposals, coordinating customer requirements with various company departments, and be able to deal effectively with our sales function as well as with customers. Occasional travel is required.

Major Duties:-

• €¢ Prepare proposal designs and costings for projects as required.

• €¢ Support sales activities, including preparation of technical proposals and commercial quotations based on customers’ requirements and specifications.

• €¢ Prepare detail drawings, instructions and manuals as required.

• €¢ Support Manufacturing throughout the production cycle (order entry to shipping).

• €¢ To assist the business unit manager as necessary.

General Responsibilities:

• €¢ Supports growth strategy by developing strong presence at targeted OEMs and End Users.

• €¢ Pursue targeted projects to increase market share.

• €¢ Gather VOC and market data to develop future growth.

• €¢ Direct and support outside sales representatives.

• €¢ Visit customers to give technical presentations.

• €¢ Domestic and International travel as required to provide technical and field service support for customers.

Required Qualifications:

• €¢ Educated to HNC/degree level in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. (Experiences in the relevant field will also be considered).

• €¢ Computer literate. Specifically knowledge of 3D Solid Edge, AutoCAD (or 3D design package) MS Word and Excel preferred. Knowledge in FEA will be advantageous.

• €¢ An ability to work flexibly to achieve tight deadlines and targets.

• €¢ Must be able to perform professionally at all times.

• €¢ Language Skills would be advantageous, but not necessary
