Job Description
Affinity Trust North Division
Outreach Support Workers
Salary £12,875 per annum (pro rata)
We can provide employment opportunities from a few hours per week to full time employment. Evenings and weekend work is available. Flexibility in working hours may apply.
Affinity Trust’s Outreach Services provide support to individuals with Physical and Learning Disabilities living in their own homes and in supporting living services across Leeds, Wakefield and outlying areas.
People with disabilities have their own hope, dreams, aspirations and wishes to be accepted into their own communities and to be seen as equal citizens. We aim to ensure that those we support have every opportunity to live their life to the full.
Support Workers are required to support people with all aspects of their daily living. Supporting in this way is very rewarding and we have opportunities for providing people with support in many different ways. For example, support may include dealing with household finances, domestic duties or helping someone tend their garden. As we also support people with more complex needs we are also looking for people to assist us in this area of our work.
Successful applicants will have a good understanding of the English language and good verbal communication skills. We welcome applicants from all parts of the community – in particular, those who are multi-lingual and those that have general life skills and an understanding of the diversity of the communities in which our services are provided.
Applicants will be enthusiastic, able to use their own initiative and excellent interpersonal skills. A good standard of literacy and numeracy is required as report writing is intrinsic to the role. Experience is not essential as a full and extensive programme of training will be initiated on appointment. NVQ training is made available to all part-time and full-time staff.
Travel between locations is often necessary, therefore applicants with a driving license and their own transport are welcomed.
All applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Criminal Records Bureau.
We also have vacancies in our Leeds based Residential / Opportunities services, and can offer volunteering opportunities. For more information, please click apply now below.
