Job Description
Netball Administrator/New League Coordinator
My client is a very successful organisation that provides sporting event management across Yorkshire. They are an investor in people and have over 25 sites and 1200 employees throughout the UK, All committed and dedicated to the co-ordination and organisation of competitive sporting events.
The successful applicant will be responsible for identifying new venues to set up new Netball leagues throughout the UK.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
· Identifying new venues to set up new Netball leagues
· Organising and attending meetings with new venues to negotiate contracts
· Advertising and marketing for new teams to play in established leagues
· Preparing handbooks for new and existing teams with rules, regulations and up-coming fixtures
· Account management of existing leagues including liaising with team managers
· Liaising with umpires, onsite co-ordinators and venues to ensure the league runs smoothly
· Ensuring that equipment (balls, bibs etc) is available for games
· Liaising with league co-ordinator to record results of games
· Updating website based league tables for viewing by teams
· Dealing with any queries and discrepancies from the teams
· Carrying out presentation evenings for leagues
· General office duties including answering telephone enquiries, updating database and website, preparing correspondence, filing, faxing and photocopying
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Netball game
· Background sales / business development is essential
· High standard of customer service and account management capabilities
· Educated to a good standard - ideally a college leaver or above
· Experience in events management / co-ordination would be a distinct advantage
· Be able to demonstrate organisation and administrative skills
· Proactive attitude with ability to work on own initiative
· Passionate about Netball
· Full Driving License essential – Car owner preferred
DETAILS OF EMPLOYMENT
Hours: Monday to Friday / 9.30am to 5.30pm – flexibility to work evenings
Salary: £16,000 - £25,000 basic, dependent on level of experience
Commission: Based on established new leagues
Initially a 6 month contract with the view of becoming permanent
